Services for Alfred Lee Bryan, 88, of Caldwell are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas, with Bro. Tim Lee and Deacon John Young officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018 also at the funeral home. Mr. Bryan passed away on January 9, 2018 in Caldwell, Texas.

Al was born May 29, 1929 to Alfred C. Bryan and Maude E. (Sawyer) Bryan in Rockdale, Texas. The family moved to Addicks, Texas where he graduated from High School. Al then pursued a career in freight forwarding in Houston, Texas where he met Jesselene Jordan. They were married May 11, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He went on to work for Stone Forwarding and eventually started his own company—Bryan Forwarding Company, Inc. During his professional career he travelled the world; the Middle East, Europe, Amsterdam, Belgium, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, London, and Austria. After a long successful career he retired to Caldwell to be a full time rancher.

Al enjoyed ranching, his cattle, skiing in Colorado, and he was a “feel good” golfer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell for over 50 years, the Caldwell Burleson County Lions Club for over 26 years. He was a devout Christian who loved spending time with his family and his fur babies; Lucky, Pepè, Duke, Fritz, and Max.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, Norris, and Robert Bryan; two sisters, Kittie Marie Owens and Jo Ann Leonard.

Al is survived by his wife, Jessie Bryan of Caldwell; son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Pam Bryan of Lake Jackson; daughters and sons-in-law, Terry Ruth & Ray Larson of the Woodlands, Nancy & Curt Stewart of Caldwell; sisters, Ailene Moeller of Liberty, Betty Russell of Crosby; grandchildren, Lesley McGehee, James Bryan, Christopher Larson, Kelly Ross, Erik Stewart, Meagan Stewart, Jordan Stewart; great grandchildren, Hunter McGehee, Reed McGehee, Duke Bryan Stewart; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Erik Stewart, James Bryan, Christopher Larson, John Young, III, Darrell Bryan, and David Moeller. Acting as Honorary pallbearers will be J.D. Watson Sunday School Class and Caldwell Burleson County Lions.

The family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Texas Lions Camp and Alzheimer’s Association.
