Anna Jo Harris, 92, of Caldwell passed away November 29, 2021.
She was born on October 30, 1924 to Joseph Kroulik and Annie Marie Janecek in Smithville, Texas.
She graduated from Smithville High School, class of 1942. Upon graduation she got a job as a postal worker in the camp swift post office during World War II. She handled the mail of the many soldiers headed overseas.
In 1948 she and Winston Harris were married in Houston. They had two children, Mark Harris and Karen Turner both in Caldwell. She was blessed with three grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Jo was active in the Women’s club and in St. Mary’s choir. She enjoyed the many songs they sang at the different seasons of the church giving thanks and praise. She was always interested in what all her kids were interested in. You could always depend on having strawberry short cake and strawberries for dessert after the Easter Sunday dinner.
Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Winston Boyd Harris; parents, Joe and Annie Kroulik; brothers, Ollie Kroulik, Leonard Kroulik and sister Sadie Bravenec.
