Bettie Jean was born August 8, 1941 to Joe Frank Becvar and Alberta (Blaha) Becvar in Dime Box, Texas. She married Milton Joe Schroeder, Sr. on June 24, 1961 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, Texas.
She loved sewing and grew up on the farm running and baling hay. She was a very hard-working lady. Bettie Jean was well respected at her job at Bryan High School in the Food Service Department, and when her “Baking Day” came around, all the teachers and kids would flock to buy her rolls and cookies. Dancing, Polka music, and old Country & Western music were her among her favorites. She loved the Holidays. She would always take over all of the holiday cooking and wouldn’t let anyone help her. She worked hard all her life and never complained a single bit. She will be very missed.
Bettie Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Joe Schroeder; Sr., brother, Albert Becvar and daughter-in-law, Michelle Schroeder.
She is survived by sons, Milton J. Schroeder, Jr. and wife Donna of Caldwell, James A. Schroeder of Bryan, Anthony “Tony” Schroeder of Caldwell, Patrick Schroeder and wife Brenda of Caldwell; grandchildren, Tyler Wayne Schroeder and Abigail “Abby” Schroeder.
