Brenda Polansky, born 20 November 1948, passed away peacefully on 21 January 2025. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend whose life touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Brenda was born and raised in Yorkshire, England, alongside her three sisters and brother. After moving to Germany, she met the love of her life, John Polansky Jr. Their connection quickly grew into a lifelong partnership, and together they traveled frequently due to John's work in the US State Department before settling in Texas, where they finished raising three children and built a loving home filled with warmth, creativity, and adventure.
A passionate gardener, Brenda had a deep connection with nature and took great joy in cultivating a beautiful, flourishing garden. Her love of nurturing plants was matched only by her fascination with history and travel. Brenda cherished exploring historical places, immersing herself in the stories of the past, and sharing those experiences with her family.
Brenda was also an incredibly talented artist. She had a gift for sewing and would craft unique outfits and artwork out of fabric. She also designed and decorated fanciful cakes for her children’s birthdays and loved experimenting with new recipes. Her creations reflected her imaginative spirit and attention to detail. Whether stitching a garment or making something new in the kitchen, Brenda poured love and care into every project.
One of Brenda's most striking features was her long hair, which she often styled in an elaborate bun—a symbol of her grace and elegance. She also had a deep affection for her family in England and New Zealand, and found great joy in visiting them whenever possible, always cherishing the time spent with loved ones.
Brenda’s memory will live on in the hearts of her three children, her family abroad, her wonderfully welcoming in-laws, and all those whose lives she touched.
