Bruce White

Bruce White 70, of Caldwell passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. A graveside service is planned for Saturday, January 22, 2022 @ 11 am @ Chriesman Cemetery in the Chriesman Community of Burleson County.

Bruce was born on June 21, 1951 to Douglas White and Helen (Heibel) White in Victoria, Texas. Bruce attended school in Edna, Texas where he played football and sang in the school choir. After graduating Edna High School in 1969, he went on to study electrical engineering at Texas State Technical Institute in Waco, Texas. Bruce met the love of his life Cindy Dorsey in 1971 and the two were married on September 17 of the same year. Shortly after marriage, Bruce joined the Houston Fire Department where he became a paramedic for nine years during which time they became the proud parents of their two children, Jeremy and Jennifer. The family relocated to Caldwell, Texas in June of 1981. Bruce pursued many career paths over the years such as propane operator, manager of Texas Burger in Caldwell, assistant manager of Brookshire Brothers and Walmart Caldwell. Bruce discovered that he was most adept at being a hot oil truck operator first at Hot Oil Plus and ending up at Texas Hot Oilers of Giddings, Texas. Anyone who knew Bruce knew that he enjoyed singing in the church choir at Caldwell First Baptist Church and was the bass singer for the men’s quartet Good News Boys in the 80’s. Bruce was truly a “jack of all trades” and master of all. He enjoyed carpentry, reading, rv camping, and could often be found sitting on his front porch drinking coffee and watching the squirrels play.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, James Douglas White and Helen Grace White.

He is survived by wife, Cindy White of Caldwell, his son Jeremy White and wife Angie of Caldwell, Texas, daughter Jennifer Bolton and husband Rick of Round Rock, Texas, sister Nancy Slatter and husband Wayne of Inez, Texas, brother Larry White and wife Janet of Edna, Texas, grandchildren Garrett White, Sarah White, Colton Bolton, Emily Bolton, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
