Cecilia Negrete Baca went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2022 She was born in Somerville, Texas on November 22, 1943 to Soledad Armenta Negrete and Anastacio Negrete. She graduated from Somerville High School in 1962, after graduation Cecilia chose a vocation as a nun but after an appendectomy her father changed her mind. In 1965, she moved to Houston and lived with her sister, Mary. She received nurse's training at St. Joseph's Hospital and upon completion continued working for the hospital. In 1967, she returned to Somerville and went to work in a chair and ladder factory in Caldwell, Texas. Years later she met and married the love of her life, John Baca on April 7, 1979, they have one son, Nathan Baca.
She worked hard and long hours for Continental Carbon, Wallace Computers and retired from R&R Donnelly, a factory in Brenham. She enjoyed each and every job even though it was hard work. Cecilia was a feisty tiny lady and a breast cancer survivor. She also survived from having an aortic aneurysm and battled COPD for several years.
The Lord called her home and has given her much needed rest. Preceded in death is her husband John Baca, her parents Soledad and Anastacio Negrete, her brothers Refugio (Ray), Yreneo (Neo), and Pedro (Pete).
Surviving loving family members include her son Nathan Baca and wife Nicole, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Harley, and Logan Baca. Her brothers Antonio (Tony), Andrew and wife Dora, and Joe Negrete. Her sisters Loretta Soliz and husband Robert, Mary Zepeda and husband Willie. She will be greatly missed by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
