Charles Lloyd Hager, June 26, 1946 – November 19, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Charles Lloyd Hager, age 77, in Bryan, Texas. Life has many unplanned events and his inability to survive cancer was, regrettably, one of them. May we all rest in the awareness that he is forever in God’s loving hands.
Charles was born in Bryan, Texas, on June 26, 1946, the only boy in a family of three sisters. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Estelle Hager, and by his sister Sandy Kaiser. He is survived by his daughters, Marney Hager and Charley Roese: his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Linda Donovan and Audrey Hutchings.
The family moved to Houston and Charles graduated from Sam Houston High School, all the while working alongside his father and learning the value of hard work. He was an active member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #67, taking great pride in his proficiency in the field. He gave freely of his expertise to help family and friends with their various projects at their homes and properties.
Charles was an original – remembered by his friends and family as direct and outspoken, always with a wry smile on his face. He was a unique individual who forged his own path, making devoted and lifelong friends.
At Charles’ request, no memorial service will be held.
