Charles Wuenscher

October 20, 1935 — December 7, 2018

Charles Wuenscher, 83, of Snook, passed away on Friday, December 7, in College Station.

Visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home on Monday, December 10 from 5 pm – 7 pm. Service will be Tuesday, December 11, 10am at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Lyons. Interment will follow at Mound Prairie Cemetery in Lone Oak.

Charles went to Snook ISD and Blinn College where he received a business administrative associates degree. Drafted into the Army, April 19, 1957. He served over seas in Germany and China, after serving his country, he worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture in the crop science department with the cotton transportation. Charles retired after 25 years, went to work in the oilfield as a well checker, during this time he also ran and worked the family ranch. After leaving the oilfield business he ranched fulltime. He loved cattle and watching Snook High School Basketball. He would travel all over Texas to watch the games. He enjoyed having coffee with friends at the Snook Drive Inn while they solved the world’s problems in the morning. He would send his time solving problems in the afternoon with friends at the Snook Watering Hole.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sam Wuenscher and Lillian Emma (Schoppe) Wuenscher; sister, Darnell Weisse and her husband Frank Weisse, Sr.

Survivors include his nephew, Frank Weisse, Jr.; niece, Patricia (Weisse) Handsaker and Husband Paul; great nephews, Kevin Sanchez, Michael Sanchez; great niece, Crystal Sanchez; great great nephew; Ryan Sanchez; great great niece, Natasha Drewry along with numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers are Kermit Maas, BJ Hejl, Randy See, Melvin Schoemann, Don Horn and Donnie Victori

Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
