Darrel Harris

Darrel Harris, 60, of Brenham went to his heavenly home on Friday, May 5, 2017. Visitation is set for Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Strickland Funeral home in Somerville, Texas from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral service is set for Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Somerville, Texas.

Darrel was a hard working husband and father. He was very dependable and always put the needs of others before his own. Old time rock-n-roll and country music were his favorite things to listen to when he wasn’t watching his Dallas Cowboys or Texas Longhorns. Darrel was a wonderful grandfather with a heart of gold. His loss will be felt by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Harris and Francine Barber Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Justine Harris, sons Patrick Brandon Tanton and wife P.J., Jarrod Ross Tanton, Zachary Eli Tanton and wife Gigi, brothers, Carrel Harris and wife Jill, Danny Harris and wife Stacy, mother-in-law, Bernice Tanton, stepfather, Howard Jamieson, grandchildren, Vincent Gonzales, Zoey Tanton, Sehara Escobar, Trace Huerta, sister-in-law, Lisa Tanton, brother-in-laws, Billy Tanton, James Tanton and wife Laurie, Pruitt Tanton and wife KK, nephews, Landon Harris and wife Stephanie, Cory Harris and Eric Tanton, nieces, Whitney Scott-Jones and husband Shaun, Callie Cox and husband Drew, Amanda Hooks and husband Jessie, Melody, Erica, Jennice, Katelyn, Allie, five great nephews, six great nieces and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers are Patrick Tanton, Jarrod Tanton, James Tanton, Pruitt Tanton, Zachary Tanton and Vincent Gonzales.

Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Harris, Carrel Harris, Billy Tanton, Landon Harris, Cory Harris, Eric Tanton, Zane Tanton, Zoel Tanton and Zair Tanton.
