David Zaharis

A Memorial Service for David Christopher Zaharis, 63, of Caldwell is set for 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Somerville. HPD Chaplain Monte Montgomery will officiate. A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m., before the service begins. Mr. Zaharis passed away from Glioblastoma Brain Cancer on May 7, 2019 at his home in Caldwell surrounded by his loving family.

David was born August 20, 1955 to John Louis Zaharis and Tula Joan (LeNoir) Zaharis in Norman, Oklahoma. He was the third of their nine children.

He served the citizens of Houston for 31 years as a Master Police Officer for the Houston Police Department in the Heights area before his retirement in May 2011.

David was preceded in death by his aunt, Amelia Ann LeNoir; sister-in-law, Anita Zaharis; and cousin, Rex Barney Pierson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Debbie (Chilson) Zaharis; sons, Christopher David & wife Krystal Zaharis, Bryan Matthew & wife April Zaharis, Kyle Justin & wife Jessica Zaharis, Cody Michael Zaharis; daughter, Kyndal Reneé Ferranti; parents, John & Tula Zaharis; grandchildren, Alejandro (Alex) Irizarry-Zaharis, Ty Nicholas Ferranti, Aria Soleil Zaharis, Rylee Reneé Ferranti, Alexia Grace Zaharis, Cash Matthew Zaharis, Vivian June Zaharis and Easton David Zaharis.
