Donald Thayer

Donald Gordon Thayer, 86, of Bryan passed away on June 3, 2017 in Caldwell, Texas.

Donald was born March 26, 1931 to Forest Thayer and Gladys (Jerome) Thayer in Somerset, New York.

Donald was raised on a dairy farm in upstate New York. He served his country by joining the United States Air Force at the age of 18, and was a welder for 45 years after leaving the military. He enjoyed racing motorcycles and was a good man who loved his family.

He is survived by the Mother of his children, Sharlotte Sue (Robinson) Thayer Levera; sons, Billy Don Thayer of Las Vegas, NV, Jerry Lee Thayer of Bryan, TX, Tommy Dee Thayer of Bryan, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Sue (Thayer) & Samuel David Maddalone of Boca Raton, FL, Bobbi Lyn (Thayer) & Keith Mead of Bastrop, TX, Alice May (Thayer) & Eddie Allen Wager of Edge, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Lois & Marv Schrock of Akron, NY; grandchildren, Amber Thayer, Blair Thayer, Becky (Thayer) Westbrook, Shayla Thayer, Dayna Thayer, Donavan Thayer, Mandy Holland, Lee Burnett, Joshua Thayer, Angela, Thayer, Christi Thayer, Tyler Thayer, Dalton Thayer, Brittany (Wager) Weiman, Nicloyn Wager, Kylee Wager; 31 great grandchildren; one great, great grandson, Kenneth “Jeremy” James Spencer, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys & Forest Thayer; sister, Joyce Caleb; brother, William “Bill” Thayer: three grandchildren, Melody & Devon Thayer, and Ty Allen Wager.

A private family service was held.
