Donny Walker

Funeral services for Donny Clyde Walker, 69, of Caldwell are set for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Burleson County Cowboy Church in Caldwell, with Bro. Harvey Abke officiating. Interment will be later that day at 2:00 p.m., at Bell Plains Cemetery near Salado, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mr. Walker passed from this world at his home in Caldwell on March 4, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Donny was born on January 15, 1949 to Riley Walker and Doris Jean (Johnson) Walker in Belton, Texas. He married Sharon Oats on August 4, 2000 in Caldwell, Texas.

Donny was a real cowboy: he raised horses and Brahma cattle and he never met a stranger. He was very proud of his son Chance and his rodeo accomplishments. He was a big fan of the Dumas Walker Jalapeno Pepper Company and their Dumas Walker restaurant in Burnet, Texas. He loved his grandbabies and he loved the Lord.

Donny was preceded in death by his Father Riley Walker.

Donny is survived by his wife Sharon Walker of Caldwell; mother, Doris Johnson of Caldwell; son and daughter-in-law, Chance & Aleacia Walker of Temple; daughters, Stormy Walker of Troy, Wendy Walker of Temple; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny Ray & Denise Hicks of Hutto, Scott & Cindy Lau of New Market, Alabama; sisters, Vickie Heath of May Pearl, Linda Lee of Temple; grandchildren, Dalton Walker, Destiny Garcia, Daycee Garcia, Evan Segovia, Tristin Segovia, Jase Heath, Paislee Walker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and church family.

Pallbearers will be Brad Oliver, Tommy Grant, Bill Couts, Johnny Ray Hicks, John Sumrall, and LT Thomas.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Burleson County Cowboy Church Building Fund.
