Douglas Thomason (Doug)

At age 72, Douglas Thomason, of Shelby, TX went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2019. He was born in Houston, TX on July 20, 1947. In 1973, Doug married his girlfriend, Martine Laugere, in Bellville, TX while on the Salt Grass Trail ride. Doug and Marty moved to Shelby where they loved raising and showing their horses and were involved in supporting the local youth through the County Fair. Doug was fiercely devoted to his family and lifelong friends and always willing to help when there was a need. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Doug is survived by his two siblings, David Thomason and Jeri Cearfoss, a sister-in-law, Rochelle Laugere, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Del Thomason, Marty, his wife of 28 years, a niece, Valerie Cearfoss, and a brother-in-law, Alan Laugere.

The Memorial Service is Saturday, August 31 at 2:00 pm at the Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, TX
