Elaine Muzny

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine Ruth (Jakubik) Muzny, 70, of Deanville is set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dime Box, Texas. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with a Rosary at 5:30 p.m. Mrs. Muzny passed from this world on May 29, 2018, surrounded by loved ones at her home.

Elaine was born November 5, 1947, to Ernest Rudolph Jakubik and Olga (Ollie) Emilie (Shenkir) Jakubik in Bryan, Texas. She married James J. (Jim) Muzny on August 20, 1966.Elaine worked at the ASCS office in Caldwell for 15 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Dime Box, as well as a member of the altar society at St. Joseph’s.

She was a foster mother to several children, loved gardening, quilting, canning, cooking Sunday dinners for the family and caring for her grandbabies, one of the many joys of her life. She enjoyed working on the farm with her beloved husband and watching her husband and son John roping at the Circle Z Arena. Elaine loved helping her children and grandchildren with their many fair projects throughout the years and taking them on fishing excursions while enjoying a “cold one”. She was one of the best pickle canners in Burleson County. Elaine was a den mother for the Cub Scouts, a member of Snook SPJST, and a member of the Deanville VFD. She enjoyed traveling and loved watching women’s basketball. While in high school, she was a member of the Snook Blue Jay basketball team.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Judy Jakubik.

Elaine is survived by her husband James J. (Jim) Muzny of Deanville; sons and daughters-in-law, John B. & Kathy J. Muzny of Deanville, Jason E. & Jessica A. Muzny of Deanville; daughter and son-in-law, Hollie D. & Shawn L. Jennings of Deanville; brothers and sister-in-law, Carlson Jakubik of New Braunfels, Lyndon & Maude Linda Jakubik of Snook; sister and brother-in-law, Bernice & Tommy Junek of Snook; grandchildren LeAnn R. Jennings, Emily D. Jennings, Madyson A. Muzny, Weston K. Muzny, John Wesley (JW) Muzny and numerous other relatives and family friends.

Pallbearers will be Donald Jakubik, Jeffery Jakubik, Kevin Junek, Clint Oppermann, Michael Muzny, and Anthony Muzny. Honorary pallbearers will be LeAnn Jennings, Emily Jennings, Madyson Muzny, Weston Muzny, and JW Muzny.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph’s Parish in Dime Box, MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Traditions Health Care or CHI St. Joseph Cancer Center.
