Ernest Martin

Ernest Martin, 92, of Caldwell passed away on June 3, 2022, his visitation will be 4 -6pm on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, TX.  Funeral services will be held at 3pm on June 11, 2022, at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, Texas. Burial will follow after the service at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Ernest was a hard worker who enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and watching sports on television.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas, and Sarah Martin; son, Clifton Wayne Martin; grandson, Kevin Wayne Martin; great-grandson, Weston John Lammons; five brothers, Albert, Horace, Roger, Leonard, and Buck; three sisters, Martha Ann, Sara Nell, and on baby sister.

Ernest leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Lillie Mae; daughter, Diana Rutherford; brother, Malcolm Martin; sister, Lucille Van Winkle and husband Rip; daughter-in-law, Francine Martin; grandchildren; Michael Lammons and wife Jennifer, Crystal Williams, and Jennifer Martin; great-grandchildren, Michael Lammons Jr., Lance Lammons, Payton Lammons, Joyanna Rudel, Grace Moses, Hannah Alberth, Noah Alberth, Madeline Alberth, Katlynn Alberth, Brooklynn Alberth, Gracelyn Alberth, Chase Alberth, Christian Alberth, Faith Alberth, Channing Alberth and Jordan Wright.

Pallbearers are Michael Lammons, Michael Lammons Jr., Lance Lammons, Payton Lammons, Bobby Van Winkle, and Noah Alberth.
