Floyd Ralph Woods, age 94, passed away at MRC Crestview Retirement Community in Bryan, TX., on March 1, 2025. Floyd was born September 10, 1930, in Houston, TX., to parents Frank Carl Woods Sr. and Emily Catherine (Morris) Woods.
Floyd married the love of his life, Dorothy Hlavaty, December 28, 1974, in Houston, TX., at St. Christopher Catholic Church.
Floyd worked for Sear in Houston, TX., for almost 38 years before retiring to spend time with his wife and daughter. In his retirement, he focused on his favorite hobby- woodworking.
When his mother-in-law's health started decline, Floyd and Dorothy moved to the Caldwell area to care for her. Floyd became a member of First United Methodist Church in Somerville, TX., where he made many friends and was a light in their lives. Floyd was a very sweet, loving, caring Christian man who touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Hlavaty) Woods, his parents, Frank Carl Sr. and Emily Catherine (Morris) Woods, brothers Morris Woods, Julius Woods and Frank Woods Jr., sister Winnie Woods and sister-in-law Sybil Woods.
Floyd is survived by his daughter Joy Emberton and husband Paul of Austin, TX., sister-in-law Edith Woods of Jacinto City, TX., grandchildren Megan Emberton and husband Duncan Harris of Ann Arbor, MI., Graham Emberton of Ann Arbor, MI., and two great grandchildren Arlo Harris and Oscar Harris of Ann Arbor, MI., and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
The family would like to thank MRC Crestview Retirement Community Bryan, TX., staff, for their excellent commitment to the care of Floyd. We are so grateful and thankful for everything you did for our family.
The family would also like to thank the Traditions Health Hospice College Station, TX., care team for their excellent care and support during the final months of his life.
A graveside service will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, Frenstat, TX., on April 12, 2025, at 11:00 am.
