Services for Franceil (Linton) Dodson, 72, of Caldwell are set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 14 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Pastor Wayne Calder officiating. Interment will follow at Chriesman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2019 also at the funeral home.
Fran was born July 29, 1947 in Houston, Texas to Charles Linton and Erma Boedeker.
Fran passed peacefully on August 8, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital, Bryan, Texas, surrounded by family and friends.
She graduated from Bellaire High School. After moving to Bryan, Texas she worked at First American Bank where she was secretary to the President. Fran also worked at Cashion-Caine gift shop and Hardy Gardens where she loved making beautiful flower arrangements and Christmas wreaths.
She loved her son and granddaughter more than anything as well as her fur babies, Toughy and Sweet Pea. Fran had an infectious smile that would light up a room and was very talkative and outgoing. She was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it, she was a very caring and loving individual.
While living in Bryan her son, Adam, as a great baseball player in high school. Fran loved attending his games and knew all the players, always taking drinks and snacks for everyone. She was always active in all of Adam’s activities in school.
The second love of her life arrived on June 4, 2013. She absolutely adored and worshipped the ground her granddaughter walked on. Together they enjoyed jumping on the trampoline, playing together and cooking. The love they shared was untouchable.
Fran moved to Caldwell in 2009 after the death of her mother and lived in her mother’s home where she continued her love of flowers as this was her mother’s passion also and her yard was always full of beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Tommy Linton and step-father Leonard Boedeker.
Fran is survived by her son, Adam Dodson of Bryan and granddaughter, Kylea Dodson and her mother Kristy Urbanosky and Kristy’s children, Dalton and Kymber Dean; aunts, Edna Brymer, who was like a mother to her; and Brenda Boedeker; uncle, Wayne Boedeker and his wife Maxine; and numerous other relatives and family friends.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Caldwell.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
