Gene Branch

Gene Branch, 63, passed on July 13, 2022, at home with family by his bedside. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday July 30, 2022, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.

Gene was born November 1,1958 to Kenneth Branch and Bonnie June Branch in Forth Stockton, Texas. He grew up in Uvalde, Texas, where loved playing baseball and hanging out with cousins and many friends. After graduating from Uvalde Highschool, he worked in the oil field as a “rough neck” for many years. Later he moved to Caldwell, Texas, where he worked at Sherman Wire until the plant closed, approximately for 15 years. After that, he worked at Texas A&M for many years and retired in 2021. He made many good friends at work, such as his friend “Buddy” and other wonderful friends, Ramona and Lorena who worked with him at A&M and remained visiting until the end.

Gene was loved by all his family and friends. He has a special girlfriend, Karey Fraley, whom he loved with all his heart!  They made many trips and good memories together before his illness took him.

Gene is proceeded in death by his father Kenneth Branch Sr, brother Kenneth Branch Jr, and his sisters Bonnie Branch and Sybil Clark.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie June Branch; his sisters, Barbara Rogers, and Cherie Nance; his brothers James Branch and Rickey Nance Sr. His two sons, Brad and Bryan Horsley, and their wives, Angie, and Felicia Horsley. His grandchildren Aubrey, Austin, and Leah whom he loved dearly.

Gene made time for each, and every person mentioned by name, there are numerous family and friends to name but he equally loved them.
