Geoffery Lightsey and Ethan Cutrone officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mr. Loehr passed away June 28, 2019 at his home in Caldwell.

Gerald was born October 10, 1963 to Raymond Fred Loehr and Ima Jean (Davis) Loehr in Bryan, Texas.

Gerald was known by many as a perfectionist who always wanted things in their place, and as a great cook and BBQ’er. What he loved most in this world was being a father to his two beautiful daughters. They were the center of his universe. He loved watching sports, especially Aggie football and any volleyball that Lauren was a part of. He also enjoyed watching any dance event that Lindsey performed in. He enjoyed tractor pulls, Texas A & M Opas events, dance with the stars and art exhibits. He also enjoyed mowing, ranching, farming, working the hay fields, fishing and shooting guns. His favorite times of the year were Christmas and New Years.

Gerald Loehr had a love for animals. He has taken in so many dogs and cats through the years and gave them a wonderful home. He also had birds. He took in strays, and he rescued animals in many different situations. Not only did he rescue them, he had them spayed and neutered to help end the massive problem of having too many animals and not enough homes. He even took in neighbors’ dogs that wandered to his house to live. He also became our family dog groomer and lined all the dogs up for haircuts and he did an excellent job. The money collected in this fund will go toward helping out local animal shelters with adoptions, food and care of the animals.
