Glen Rathjen was born on May 10, 1967, to Alphine and Annie Rathjen. He graduated from UTI in Houston in July of 1987, to become a certified auto mechanic. He worked many years as a mechanic on many projects. If you broke it, he could fix it. Glen was a rancher and took up hay-baling and enjoyed riding the fields in his blue ford tractor, making countless bales of hay. To relax he would pull out the old fishing pole and try out some tournaments around. But his all-time favorite was Dallas Cowboys and “Do Not Disturb” during the game.
Glen is survived by his son Garrett Rathjen and wife Kaitlyn, his 3 grandchildren; Kayleighann, Reeson and Collier of Premont, Texas; his sister Virginia Sowders of Caldwell; his two brothers Darrell Rathjen and wife Nola; and Darwon Rathjen and wife Connie all from Caldwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alphine and Annie Rathjen, a nephew Jordan Blake Rathjen, his brother-in-law William Sowders, and the love of his life Kathleen Mynar.
Pallbearers include Garrett Rathjen, Alan Rathjen, Billy Sowders, Trevor Rathjen, Austin Rathjen, Jeremy Krueger
