Irene Harland

Graveside services for Irene Trula Harland, 82, of Caldwell are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Chriesman Cemetery. Visitation will be held before the graveside from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home. Mrs. Harland passed from this world on May 9, 2018 in Caldwell, Texas.

Irene was born March 9, 1936 to Quanah Nacona Parker and Gladys (Goodwin) Parker in Elk City, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, garage sales, shopping, fishing and traveling to the coast. She was a great caregiver to her family and all who know her, she had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. She was “Bad to The Bone”; that was her expression. Her sons spoiled her tremendously and she will be missed by all who loved her.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurman Lee Harland, and daughter, Debbie Lynn Vick.

She is survived by sons, Danny Harland of Caldwell, Texas, Donny Harland of Ingleside, Texas, Jerry Harland and wife Donna of Chriesman, Texas; daughters, Brenda Gaskins and husband Steve of Buchanan Dam, Texas, Connie Harland of Bryan, Texas; sister, Linda Tuttle of Farmington, New Mexico; granddaughter Chastity Davidson and husband Brad; numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Brad Davidson, James Vick, Christopher Harland Justin McColm and Steve Gaskins.
