Irene Witte-Brewster

Services for Irene (Watson) Witte-Brewster, 95, of Caldwell are set for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 1, 2017 also at the funeral home. Mrs. Brewster passed away on August 31, 2017 in Caldwell, Texas.

Irene was born October 28, 1921 to Tola Earl Watson and Virlena (Clepper) Watson in Burleson County, Texas. Irene married Carl Witte on August 10, 1940 in Somerville, Texas and after his passing she later married Bob Brewster on May 13, 1987 in Caldwell, Texas.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carl H. Witte, husband Hiriam Brewster; grandsons, Carl Lee Thomas, and Darrel Smith; great granddaughter, Paisleigh Lynn Thomas; sons-in-law, Wilber Thomas and Kenneth Smith; two brothers, two sisters, three brother-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.

Irene is survived by son, Darwin & Candace Witte of Caldwell; daughters, Florine Smith of Deer Park, Carlene Thomas of Livingston, Earlene & William Ackley; sister-in-law, Gladys Watson of North Zulch; sisters, Lavelle Gasper and Gladys Akers, both of Caldwell; grandchildren, Geneva & Doug Boyett, Troy & Brandy Thomas, Wayne & Amber Smith; Robin & Kellie Smith, Cynthia McGough, Daniel & Mary McGough, Walt & Amber Ackley, Amy & Clarence Burger, Holly Wiley, Candi Shea Witte, Coti & Josh Freeman, Corey Knight; and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Troy Thomas, Daniel McGough, Josh Freeman, Andrew Potter, Walt Ackley, and John Wayne Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Boyett, Wayne Smith, and Robin Smith.
