J Calvin

J. Lynn Calvin was born October 28, 1942 to Homer and Lydia (Blazek) Calvin in the Providence Community near Caldwell, Texas. He was the last of nine children. He went to his eternal home on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Services for Mr. Calvin are private.

J. Lynn attended Caldwell schools and then enlisted in the Army in 1963 at the age of 20. His military service lasted for 9 years, the majority of which he spent in Germany. He married Linda Meiller, and they lived together in Bryan, Texas for 20 years.

After being honorably discharged from the Army, J. Lynn began working at Producers Cooperative in Bryan, Texas. He delivered feed to customers in the area for more than 20 years.

J. Lynn was a quiet, country boy who loved to hunt and fish. He and his family enjoyed vacationing in Galveston. After retiring, his favorite pastime was returning for weeks at a time to fish in the Galveston bay. He also enjoyed building model planes.

J. Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Leroy, Stanley, Sr., Joe Dan, Homer Ray, and an infant brother, Homer Andrew; three sisters, Mae Dell Billet, Elizabeth Miller, and Joyce Hitchcock; sisters-in-law, Alice Calvin, Estelline Calvin, Johnnie Calvin, and Lois Calvin; and brothers-in-law, Harold Billet ,Joe Miller, and Philip (Bobby) Hitchcock.

He is survived by a daughter, Gwen Rangel and husband, Ruben, a granddaughter, Monique Rangel, a grandson, Jason Rangel, and wife, Brittany, all of Caldwell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
