J. Ondrasek

J.D. Ondrasek, 82, passed away December 27, 2020 in Westcliffe, Colorado. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10 AM at Strickland Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Hranice Cemetery in Dime Box. The visitation will be held Friday, January 1, 2021 from noon till 7PM at the funeral home.

J.D. was born July 26, 1938 in Caldwell Texas to Joe V. Ondrasek and Rosie Marie (Kubena) Ondrasek.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe V. Ondrasek & Rosie Ondrasek, wife Dorothy Ondrasek, son Daryl Ondrasek, stepson Michael Wetzler, sisters Josephine Koeppen, Evelyn Zajicek, brothers Benjamin and Franklin Ondrasek.

He is survived by son Joe Ondrasek Jr. & wife Missy, Stephen Ondrasek & wife Judy, Cody Ondrasek, stepson James Wetzler & wife Jennifer, sister Rose Autrey, 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

When he was younger, he loved noodling for catfish and hunting. J.D. was a people person and known as the beer man from his days as a beer distributer. He loved polka music, gardening, cookoffs and playing dominos. He was a state champion domino player. He didn’t know how to dance until he met Bernice the mother of his children, then he loved dancing. His favorite Polka artist was Big Joe, Mollie B. and the Vrazels. He was also a member of the Birch Creek gun club.
