Jack Prewett

July 2, 1937 — August 7, 2020

Jack has gained his wings and is hunting in the best of fields. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Jewel Prewett, and son Steven. He is survived by his loving wife Faye Cihat; son, John Howell and wife Dawn; brother, Jim and wife Shirley; brother, Jerry, and sister Judy Dusek and husband Dan “brother-in-law “. He is also survived by grandson Anthony Nutt; stepsons, Andy Wilson and Aaron Roshto and wife Carolyn; three step-granddaughters Jordan Wilson, Haley and Annabelle Roshto. Jack excelled in basketball, football, and track in junior and senior high school, even winning a bronze medal at the Pan Am games running in the 440 relay.

Jack graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg. He graduated from

Southwestern University and earned a teaching certificate from Sam Houston State. Jack was a committed coach and mentored many fine young men that remained friends throughout his life. He was the transportation director at Crosby ISD for many years. Jack’s real love was the outdoors; hunting and fishing, training a lab, sighting in a rifle, or reloading ammo; he could not wait for that next season.

Honorary pallbearers are: Curtis Boyles, Steve Boyles, David Byrd, Ed Cross, Chris Fojt, Blaien Friermood, James Hanna, Steve Hollamon, Travis Hollamon, Michael Svec and Vincent Svec.

Jack would request that on your next, hunt think of him, because he and Topaz are with you.

In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to: The Cancer Clinic 2215 E. Villa Maria Ste 110 Bryan, Tx 77802. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Floyd and the entire staff at The Cancer Clinic for their care and love. The family would also like to thank the staff of Traditions Health and their very special angel PJ. A memorial service will be held on August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at The Family Life Center First United Methodist Church 222 10th Street in Somerville Texas.
