Jo Gaas

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jo Ann (Norton) Gaas, 84, of Caldwell is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, with Fr. Bernard Hung officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m., at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Mrs. Gaas died on May 21, 2016 in Bryan, Texas.

Jo Ann was born October 7, 1931 to Milton Jessie Norton and Fannie Fred (Withers) Norton in Waco, Texas. Jo Ann was a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat. She enjoyed dancing and taking gambling trips to Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin Gaas; one brother, Milton Norton; two sisters, Evelyn Houghey, Joyce Masterson; and great niece Kristin Reed. Survivors include; son and daughter-in-law Randy & Diana Sowders of Caldwell; niece Carolyn Reed and husband Chuck of Caldwell, step sons Jeff Gaas and wife Terry of Caldwell, Dennis Gaas and wife Karen of Snook, Randy Gaas and wife Linda of Caldwell; step daughters, Pat Jadlowski and husband Chris, Linda Turner and husband Mike all of Caldwell, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Gaas, Randy Gaas, Jeff Gaas, Jason Gaas, Matt Gaas, and Phil Shupak.
