Johnny Perez, Sr.

Graveside services for Johnny R. Perez, Sr., of Somerville will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Forest Park Funeral Home located at 12800 Westheimer in Houston.

A viewing will be held fro 9 am to 1 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.

Mr. Perez, Sr., died on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Johnny was born on February 8, 1935, in Bishop, Texas to Cresencio and Barbara Perez. Johnny was a hard working father of five, who had a zest for life and was always ready to laugh. A dedicated man, Johnny spent his years as a young man working hard at Kroger for 37 years to support his family in Houston. He was a connoisseur of the barbecue pit, a lover of animals and a person you could always count on to lend a helping hand, family members said. Upon his retirement, Johnny moved to Somerville. Johnny will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Maria Perez; his brother Joe; his sisters, Ermelinda and Vickie; his loving son and daughter, Robert Lee Perez and Diane Berg; and his grandson, Chris Berg.

Johnny is survived by his loving children Johnny Perez, Jr. (Molly), Dora Ann Parrino (Kelly), and Roland Perez (Tina); his grandchildren, Gary Perez, Amber Wade, Meghann Gutierrez, Sam Parrino, Jason Perez, James Perez, Brandon Perez, Zachary Perez, Kaylee Perez, John Patrick Perez, Rachel Perez and Alexis Greenhalgh; his step-grandchildren, Missy Brickner and Teren Dupuis; numerous nieces and nephews; and seven great-grandchildren.
