Julia Elaine Sears Ziesemer, 95, passed away on July 6, 2024.
A graveside service for Julia will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas.
Julia was born on December 27, 1928, in Somerville, Texas to Cecil and Hattie Sears.
Julia was born and raised in Somerville and only moved to Tomball, Texas for a short time. She worked at the Houston Chronicle and was known as “Ms. Classifieds”. Julia enjoyed cooking and had her very own recipe for a special bbq sauce she made but wouldn’t share her recipe with anyone and if you looked over her shoulder to find out she would leave out an ingredient so it couldn’t be duplicated! Her girls also remember mom making the very best fruitcakes. Julia and Charlie enjoyed dancing and listening to polka music and spent many weekends at the dance hall in Caldwell. They also enjoyed camping in Galveston and Somerville with the family.
Julia is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Charlie Ziesemer, her parents and her Aunt Adeline Blake along with Gwen Schoppe and Doreen Brown.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ziesemer, Carla Ziesemer Kubelka and Charlotte Ziesemer Nelub and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Michael Nelub(Jennifer), Melanie Nelub Miller (Alan), Cheri Nelub, Kimberly and Timothy Kubelka; great-grandchildren Ryan and Delaney Nelub, Miranda and Marissa Miller, Justin, Ashley and Christopher Mendez. Other surviving relatives include, Joyce Balke, James Balke (Carolyn), Byron Balke (Annette) and Marion Balke.
