Kathryn Virginia Lewis Schoppe, of Lone Oak, TX passed away Tuesday, March 9th, at the age of 91. Visitation will be on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Lone Oak Baptist Church, on Hwy. 60 between Snook and Lyons. Preceding the memorial, there will be a brief graveside service at 10 a.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.
Kathryn was born in Merle, TX on November 11, 1929 to Charles and Minnie Lewis. She graduated from Snook High School as Salutatorian in 1946 and continued her education at Blinn College in Brenham. After marrying Clinton Schoppe of Snook, TX, they settled in Pasadena where she worked for Phillips Petroleum. After working there for 30 years, they retired and moved back home to their ranch in Snook where they continued to improve the land, make hay, and raise cattle. Kathryn was a long-time member of the Lone Oak Baptist church and belonged to the Burleson Historical Society. She faithfully played 42 every Monday, bridge weekly, and loved the Texas Longhorns!
She is survived by her son, Billy Schoppe and wife, Candy, of Dallas, TX; grandsons Adam Schoppe and Austin Schoppe of Dallas, TX, and Alex Schoppe and wife, Hayley, of Van Horn, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton John Schoppe, her parents, Charles and Minnie Lewis, and nine brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers: Adam Schoppe, Austin Schoppe, Alex Schoppe, Ron Urbanovsky, Bob Urbanovsky, and Frank Svrcek.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell.
