Kyle Smith

Funeral services for Kyle Douglas Smith, 21, of San Marcos are set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Bro. Rick Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 also at the funeral home. Kyle passed away on July 15, 2017 in Caldwell, Texas.

Kyle was born September 14, 1995 to Richard H. Smith and Sherry (Owen) Feathers in College Station, Texas.

Kyle was passionate in his love of trucks, cars, drag racing, dirt bikes, 4-wheelers, and working on them. He was very family oriented, loved fishing, and was a hard working young man. He loved spending time with Sophia and their fur babies. Kyle never met a stranger, could light up a room with his smile, and always loved to laugh and cut up and aggravate his dad. He was a mans’ man, and a friends’ friend.

He is preceded in death by two grandfathers, Larry Smith and Herschel Owen.

Kyle is survived by his father and step mother, Richard Smith and wife Michelle, of Lexington, Texas; mother and step father, Sherry Feathers and husband James of Caldwell; fiancée, Sophia Luna of San Marcos; brother Weldon Kent Smith of Caldwell; step brothers, Michael Feathers of College Station, Mic Terry of San Marcos, Mitchell Terry of Austin; step sister, Lauren Doolittle of Seattle, Washington; maternal grandmother, Glenda Owen and companion Kevin Wolf of Jacksboro; paternal grandmother, Vicki Smith of Oplin; step grandmother Arlean Feathers of Caldwell; uncle, Scottie Owen and wife Mary of Hamilton; aunt, Lori Ogelsby and husband Robert of Oplin, cousins, Nikki, Paige, and Chelsea Owen, and McKenna Ogelsby.

Pallbearers are Willie Ihlenfeldt, RobertoRequeno, Conagher Sanchez, Christopher Woody, Matthew Bonney and Joshua Hays.

Honorary Pallbearers are Kent Smith, Coy Cass, Scottie Owen, Michal Feathers, Chris Colon, Enrique Rios, Zac Beyer, Tanner Luna, Mic Terry and Mitchell Terry.
