Leonard Davis

Leonard Davis, 68, of Somerville passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021.  Visitation will be 11am until 8pm on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.  A graveside service will be held at Lyons Community Cemetery Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 11 am.

He married the love of his life, Ola, on October 4, 1975 in Navasota.  Leonard was a family man and enjoyed gardening, landscaping, cooking BBQ, fishing and hunting.  His most treasured moments included fishing with his wife and granddaughter.  He was very active in the Somerville Church of Christ at 7th street and always enjoyed discussing bible history and facts.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Davis, Jr. and Versie (Lister) Davis; siblings; sisters, Beatrice Davis, Katie M. Johnson; brothers, Richard Brooks, Terry Lee Davis and Ernest Nix.

Leonard leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Ola; one daughter, Michelle Davis-Walters (AT); one granddaughter, Amari Walters; Godson, James Peavy; sisters, Annie Davis Hornsby of Bryan, Loretta Ellis of Somerville; brother, Robert Earl Davis of Waco and an extra special family, John and Carol Whitley, whom he and Ola embraced and accepted mentorship for over 30 years.

Pallbearers are Jeff Bodish, Jasmin Ellis, Stanley Gardner, Ke’Andre Green, Ahsford McGruder and Danny Woodfork.

Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville.
