Lillie Haisler

Funeral services for Lillie Lydia Haisler, 99, of Caldwell are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2019 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Interment will follow at New Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time prior to the funeral. Ms. Haisler passed away January 31, 2019 in Caldwell, Texas.

Lillie was born June 18, 1919 to Henry Haisler and Mary (Mynar) Haisler in the Providence Community near Caldwell.

Lillie was a hairdresser for over 50 years. Prior to beauty college she helped the family on their farm. Her beauty shop was in Rosenburg, Texas. After retiring at the age of 80 she moved to Caldwell until her passing. She attended Caldwell Brethren Church and was a member of SPJST Lodge #17 in New Tabor and a member of the Christian Sisters. She was a very skilled seamstress, making her own clothes and other gifts for her family. She was the matriarch of the Haisler family and was very sharp and witty until her passing.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Anton, Henry, Jr., and Hubert Haisler; two sisters, Martha Ginzel, Rosalie Rek; two nephews, Michael Rek and Daniel Ginzel.

She is survived by nieces, Sherry Ring, Sandra McKemie, Betty Harper; nephews, Al Ginzel, Donald Haisler, Harold Haisler, Steve Haisler, and Gene Rek.

Pallbearers will be Donald Haisler, Steve Haisler, Gene Rek, Harold Haisler, Al Ginzel, and Randy Ring.

As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be made to Caldwell Brethren Church, Christian Sisters or Encompass Hospice.
