Macklin Davis, Jr.

Mack Davis, 90, of Somerville went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2017.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, August 22, 4 p.m. ~ 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, August 23, 2:30 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery in Houston.

Macklin, affectionately known as Mack, was born on March 8, 1927 to Macklin Hobbs Davis, Sr. and Buelah (Honeycut) Davis. He grew up to serve his country during WWII in the US Navy as a coxswain. Mack enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the deer and wildlife. When his health allowed, Mack would go on long nature walks. Politics was also a passion of his.

He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Betty Jo Davis, two sisters, Syble and Jo Broaddus.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Melva Davis, sons, Kenny Davis and wife Dollyn, Terry Davis and wife Karen, Ty Davis and wife Darlene, step-sons, Chris, John and Keith brother, James Davis, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
