Marie Ellis

Funeral services for Rev. Marie Maude Ellis, 78, of Caldwell are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Pastor Shirley Lange and Betty Carol officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday before the service. Mrs. Ellis passed away October 21, 2018 in Caldwell, Texas.

Marie was born August 2, 1940 to Earnest John Bartholomew and Maudie Marie (Briggs) Bartholomew in Mankato, Kansas.

Rev. Marie loved the Lord and preaching the gospel. She enjoyed making homemade bread, sewing quilts and making dolls. Her favorite TV programs were The Bold & The Beautiful, Wheel of Fortune, The Virginian, Jimmy Swaggart, and John Hagee. She loved holidays, fishing, her grandbabies, canning, working her flower beds and her fur babies, “Boogers” and “Pudgy”. Her favorite color was turquoise. If she was your friend, she was your friend for life.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Lester Ellis; grandson, Dale Ellis; four brothers and one sister.

Marie is survived by her husband, Little Rich Ellis of Caldwell; son and daughter-in-law, Richard & Debbie Ellis of Corrigan; daughters, Cheri Collier and friend Ross Moore of Caldwell, Rachel Ellis of Caldwell; grandchildren, April MacDonald & Ricky Moore, Sandra & Gerald Batiste, Jr., Samantha Luce, Ricky Dean & Heather Brewer, Jr., Bridgette Luce & Eric Muenzler, Mikeal Brunson, Jim Bob Brunson, Scotty & Annie Brunson, Susie Ellis, Vanessa Reynolds; step grandson Eric Hood; great grandchildren, Ashten, Richard, Bryson, Shayla, Patrick, Ayden, Kinzleigh, Katelynn, Victoria, Christopher, Georgia, William, Elijah, Colton, Makayla, Hayden, Troy, Maegan, Mikael, Opal, Lily, Maddox; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Brewer, Ricky Moore, Mikael Brunson, Jim Bob Brunson, Colton Muenzler, Richard Moore, Patrick Brinkman, Jr. Eric Hood and Scotty Brunson will act a honorary pallbearers.
