Marvin James Charanza, 76, was welcomed into his heavenly home on February 11, 2025, where he joined his Lord and Savior in eternal peace. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat, TX., with Father Ed Karasek and Father Melvin Dornak as Celebrants. The Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Holy Rosary will be recited just prior to the Mass. The family will receive guests Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home Caldwell Chapel.
Marvin graduated from Somerville High School in 1966. He graduated from Blinn College in 1968 and pursued his passion for pharmacy at the University of Houston, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1971. He began his career in Bryan, Texas at Jarrot’s Pharmacy before settling in Tomball in 1979, where he dedicated almost 40 years to Gloyer’s Pharmacy. Marvin took great pride in his work, known for his exceptional care and meticulous attention to detail in serving his customers.
Even after retiring in 2018, Marvin remained committed to his profession by maintaining his license and proudly reaching the milestone of 50 years as a state board registered pharmacist. In retirement, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life—cherishing time with family and friends, nurturing his passion for gardening and staying active at his local gym, especially after indulgences of Blue Bell ice cream, kolaches and other sweet treats.
He had a lifelong love for music and dancing, finding joy in every rhythm and step. As a lover of animals and a keen interest in the beauty and wonder of the world around him, he found great comfort in watching nature programs and reading National Geographic.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Joe F. & Frances (Gaas) Charanza.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Angela & Tim Menzel, Rebecca & Mark Rieansnider, and Heather Charanza & Carlos Rodriguez; his step-grandson Alan Rieansnider and step-granddaughters Ariel and Aliyah Rodriguez; step-great-granddaughters Lila and Ellie Rieansnider; his sister Georgia Charanza; his brother and sister-in-law Lawrence & Barbara Charanza; his brother and sister-in-law Milton, Sr. & Alene Charanza; his nephews, nieces, cousins, other beloved relatives and friends.
