Mary Andrews

Mary Ann was born November 7, 1925 to Velma (Nix) and Roger Quincy Mills Groce, in the small community of Volney near Snook.
After graduation from Caldwell High School in 1942 she went to Houston and worked a short period of time at Sears and discovered she was not a city girl and returned to Caldwell.
She met and married Verne C. Andrews, who was the Burleson County Extension Agent in March of 1949. After his death in 1960 she went to work as local secretary for Germania Insurance. She retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
She loved the Lord deeply and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for 80 years. She was a member of the Ruth Sunday School class and attended church regularly until her health no longer permitted.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband Verne Andrews; son, Bobby Lynn Andrews; step-son, Curtis Andrews; sister, Mildred Colwell; brothers, Billy Groce, JR Groce, Thomas Groce, Alton Groce, Jimmy Groce; and special friend Melvin Skrabanek.
She is survived by daughter, Beth Andrews Bills; granddaughter, Hayley Leanne Bills; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Groce, Madeline Groce, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was especially proud of her only grandchild, Hayley. She was the greatest Mom and Nana any two girls could ask for. Always in our corner no matter the circumstances. She was loved equally in return.
Pallbearers will be Marc Groce, Jim Colwell, John Colwell, Joey Skrivanek, Paul Colwell, Philip Colwell, Chase Colwell, and Shane Colwell.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to First Baptist Church School or the Providence Church Building Fund.
