Monica Gutierrez

A Mass of Christian Burial for Monica Gurtierrez, 22, of Somerville is set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Somerville, with Father Joven Saavadra officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetry. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 also at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monica passed away suddenly July 30, 2019.

Monica was born September 26, 1996 to Jesus Gutierrez, Sr. and Sofia (Heredia) Gutierrez in Andrews, Texas.

Monica loved music. She would drive around in her car chillin’ out and singing. She loved to visit and hang out with her family and enjoyed dancing at all kinds of events. She always helped cook, clean, and take care of her brothers. She liked to dress up and go out. She was always posting pictures of Emiliana and she really loved to go to College Station and eat Chinese food, but most of all Monica loved life and she tried to live each day to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandmother, Sofia Zamora.

Monica is survived by her daughter, Emiliana Amanda Nicole Rios of Somerville; her parents, Jesus & Sofia Gutierrez; brothers and sister-in-law, Jesus & Morgan Gutierrez, Jr. of Tomball, Saul Gutierrez of Somerville, Fabian Gutierrez of Somerville, Michael Farrer of Brenham; sister, Syndi Patricia Gutierrez of Brenham, and many other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jesus Gutierrez, Jr., Saul Gutierrez, Fabian Gutierrez, Daniel Gutierrez, Ramiro Gutierrez, Jr., Adrian Gutierrez, Eric Gutierrez, and Jose Ortiz. Alex Zamora will act as Honorary Pallbearer.
