Myrna Dodson

Myrna Fay Dodson pass away on March 16, 2022, at the age of 84.  She was born on September 8, 1937, to Arthur E. Smith and Mayme P. Hale in Colorado City, Texas. She was married to Bill Wayne Dodson from Somerville, Texas.  Her favorite hobbies were camping, horseback riding, motorcycle riding, dove hunting and she loved to dance. Her family remembers her as a hard-working woman, sometimes having two jobs at a time.  She also loved to spend her time playing games such as Yahtzee, Uno, 42, Chinese checkers and Moon (dominos).

Myrna is survived by her husband Billy Wayne Dodson, her son Tommy Baker and wife Vanessa of Alice, her stepson Dale Dodson and wife Sue; of Alvin, TX; her three daughters Brenda Reese and husband KW of Alice, TX; Lanna Close and husband Kevin, of Alvarado TX; and Norma Faust and husband Ronnie of Somerville, TX; She had two stepdaughters Rhonda Hertel and husband David of Abilene, TX; and Lynda Garcia and husband Jr. of Longview, TX. Dodson had 24 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Mayme Smith, two brothers Milton and Jerrel Smith; one daughter Teresa Schmid; one granddaughter Tesa Hill; and one great grandson Coy Blodgett.

Serving as pallbearers are Wesley Rich, Benjamin Jones, Guy Baker, Luis Guerrero Jr., Lindsey Garcia, and Jakob Moreland.

Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville.
