Randall "Randy" Lee Walker, 74, of Snook, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Randy was born January 3, 1945 in Galveston Tx. to Melvin L & Leora Jane (Collins) Walker. He grew up in Texas City, Tx, attended Texas City High School & graduated in Class of 1963.

While in school he worked summers for his Uncle on a large ranch in Matagorda and also on tug boats in Bay City. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and was active duty for 2 years, and Reserves for 4 years. After the military he was employed as a union pipe fitter for Union Carbide. In 1974 he moved his family to Snook to make their home. He got his certified plumber license and was hired by Drew Woods Corp. in Bryan. He then left there to go in partnership in S&W Construction in Snook, Tx for several years, later breaking away to start his own business; Walker Construction, until he retired to raise livestock and farm. He married his wife Bonnie (Hejl) Walker on May 4, 1984 at the New Tabor Brethren Church, with Rev H. E. Beseda, Jr. officiating. For several years Randy served in the Snook Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed working with his cattle, his black & yellow lab dogs, watching old western movies, watching “Aggie” and “Dallas Cowboy” football and drinking cold beer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Melva Faye Walker; and father-in-law, Bennie Hejl.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Walker; daughters, Randa Vajdak, Erin Walker; grandsons; Wade Vajdak, Lance Vajdak; mother-in law, Emily Hejl; brothers-in-law, Ronnie and Ginger Hejl, B.J. and Nichole Hejl, Donnie and Bonnie Hejl; mother of his daughters, Connie Giesenschlag and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Snook Brethren Church Cemetery Association or Snook Brethren Church.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
