Richard Gilbert

Richard "Rick" Dominic Gilbert, 60. of Caldwell passed away November 22, 2020 in Bryan, Texas.

Rick was born November 29, 1959 to James Haywood Gilbert and Brenda Joyce (Lemley) Gilbert in Houston, Texas.

Rick was a retired deputy with the Harris County Sheriff's Department.  Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, trail rides.  He was an avid animal lover.  He was a scout and muleskinner for Salt Grass Trail RId.  Rick was a life-time member of the Lazy 8 Wagon, mule skinned for Wagon 14 and a member of the Wagon 6 family.  When he was younger, he was a competitive shooter with the IPSC matches.  He loved his family dearly.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his life-long partner Debbie Humphrey of Caldwell; sons, James Paul Gilbert of Waller, Logan Alan Gilbert of Houston; sisters, Linda Atchley and husband Gary of Caldwell, Donna Gebhardt and husband Joe of Sealy; grandchildren, Annabelle of Waller and Terra Gilbert of Houston; Uncle and Aunt Bennie and Debbie Lemley of Arlington; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.  Rick leaves behind eight beloved fur babies; Belle, Abby , Shelby, Kamo Kitty, Fuego, Mae Mae, Jigs, and Dusty.
