Roy Roe

Roy Roe, 87, of Lyons died on September 27, 2018

Visitation will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville on Monday, October 1st from 6 pm – 7pm. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 2nd at Oaklawn Cemetery at 10 am.

Roy very proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years and attained the rank of Master Sargent. He had a second career for the U.S. Postal Service for 20 years. He was a very devout Christian to his Lord and Savior. He loved working outdoors, traveling to Indiana and numerous other locations. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly called him “Roro.”

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Roe and Geneva (Young) Roe and all his siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary Ruth Roe; two daughters, Frances Niemeyer and husband Michael, Rebecca Roe; grandson, Karl Niemeyer; granddaughter, Kathy Savell; great-grandson, Randy Savell; great-granddaughter, Carley Savell and niece, Glenda Hill of Lyons.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Niemeyer, Karl Niemeyer, Kathy Savell, Randy Savell, Carley Savell, Rodney Weidemann, Randy Weidemann and Bro. Bob Owens.
