Ruby Urbanovsky

August 23, 1928 — August 10, 2020

Ruby was born August 23, 1928 in Fame, Oklahoma. Ruby and Albert Urbanovsky were married December 2, 1944 in Caldwell, Texas by Rev. Henry Beseda, Sr. Ruby and Albert made their home in the Cooks Point Community where they raised three children.

They were active members of the Cooks Point Brethren Church. In addition to helping her husband on the farm, Ruby worked as a cook at the Cooks Point School. Many mornings, Ruby was up early making yeast rolls for the school children at her home before she started her actual work day in the cafeteria. Also, she worked at the Kellar Chair factory 17 years and retired from Caldwell I.S.D. as a cook in the Caldwell High School Cafeteria. She always planted two large gardens and a wide variety of fruit trees, berries, and grapes. All of which she canned for her family to enjoy throughout the year. Ruby will be remembered by her family and friends as being a hard worker, great cook, and for all the wonderful kolaches and yeast rolls she baked over the years.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Oma and Helen Gage; brother, Virgil Gage; husband, Albert Urbanovsky (1988); and son, Louis Urbanovsky (2001).
