Services for Thomas “Tommy” Clayton Garrison, 67, of Caldwell are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2018 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell. Interment will follow at Chriesman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018 also at the funeral home. Mr. Garrison passed away at his home on January 17, 2018.
Tommy was born December 15, 1950 to Leland Lager Garrison and Dalpha Nell (Hurt) Garrison in Cameron, Texas. He married Linda Tarwater on October 9, 1976 in Caldwell, Texas.
Tommy was a member of the Warren Lodge #56, Scottish Rite, Order of the Eastern Star #976, and Down Range Men’s Group. He was past Worshipful Master of Warren Lodge # 56, and past Worthy Patron three times.
He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, hunting with his granddaughter Emily, and making halters and bridles. He was one of the thirteen original charter members of The Appaloosa Horse Association. Tommy liked riding horses and working with kids and youth. He would often cook and serve food for the Senior Center. He liked to crochet and macramé.
Tommy was a rancher his whole life.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters.
He is survived by his wife Linda Garrison of Caldwell; daughters and son-in-law, Lisa Renee Senn of Porter, Texas, Leah Denise & Michael Bennett of Caldwell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley Wayne & Monica Garrison of Cameron, Texas, Sidney Earl & Donna Garrison of Rockdale, Texas, Daniel Dean & Heather Garrison of Lexington, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia & Gary Shaw of Gause, Texas, Margaret Louise & Bruce Plentl of Milano, Texas, LeeAnn & John Eaves of Navasota, Texas, Joyce & Johnny James of Clinton, Arkansas; grandchildren, Emily Christine Bennett, Aaralynn Guinivere Senn, Shaylee Eryn Senn, Kaylee Danielle Bennett, Connor James Senn; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Warren Lodge #56. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Doonan, Randy Doonan, John Maresh, John Wyble, Pat Pierson, Down Range Men’s Group, and James Sebesta.
Memorial contributions may be given in his honor to the First United Methodist Church Youth Group and Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital.
