Thomas Griffin

Thomas Delbert “Snuffy” Griffin, of Somerville, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 21, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Masonic Services will be held at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville on Sunday, February 24 at 2 p.m. A visitation will precede the service from 11am until service time. Interment to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Delbert was born on October 27, 1941 to Thomas and Ada (Yancey) Griffin in Sinton, Texas. He was a graduate of Angleton High School Class of 1960 and was employed by Winway in Freeport, Texas until his retirement in 2002 due to ill health.

Delbert is survived by his wife, Kathy Griffin; daughter, Connie Sue Griffin Wilson and husband David of Forney, TX; son, Thomas Allen Griffin and wife Lisa of Angleton, TX; step-daughter, Nita Garza of Smithville, TX; sisters, Bessie Bradley, Kathleen Dyches (Roy) and Ruth Cummins (Carl) along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents and the mother of his children Shirley Anderson Griffin Gavin.

Delbert Served on the board as president of Birch Creek Village Homeowner Association and as Assistant Fire Chief of the Birch Creek Fire Dept. Delbert was a Mason with the Lee Scott Lodge #793 and received the Golden Trowel award.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Birch Creek Fire Department or The Lee Scott Lodge #793.
